🧪 Operating Instructions
- Open the upper cover and clean both the gemstone and prism surface with alcohol.
- Place the instrument on a stable work surface.
- Apply a small amount of refractive index liquid onto the prism surface.
- Gently press with a thin glass bar to evenly spread the liquid (avoid excess or insufficient amount).
- Place the gemstone (flat polished surface down) onto the prism.
- Lightly press to ensure proper contact, allowing the liquid to spread evenly.
- Close the upper cover.
- Press the light switch to activate the internal illumination.
- Adjust the eyepiece (diopter) until the image is clear.
- Observe the light/dark boundary line—this position on the scale indicates the gemstone’s refractive index.
